Last Minute Gifts for Kids Who Love to Read

Can you believe Christmas is Friday? If you’re anything like me you’re probably scrambling to finish up the last minute gifts for your friends and family. If you’re looking for gifts for little ones who love to read, I’m here to help!

Now I know it was just earlier this week that I was encouraging everyone to support local businesses, BUT we are definitely running out of time, and Amazon’s two-day shipping is the reason I will be featuring Amazon links in this article. (Please note: These are affiliate links, from which I will receive a small commission. This commission allows me to maintain this site and continue bringing content to you.)

Keep in mind you can use Amazon Smile to donate a portion of Amazon’s earning from the purchases you’re making to a charity of your choice! I personally send my donations to Rainbow Mobile, a local LGBTQ+ nonprofit, but you can set yours up to go to whatever cause you’d like.

With all of that said, let’s get to these gifts!

It may seem like a simple place to start, but there are tons of fun bookmark options out there for young readers.

Because every little bookworm needs a bookworm bookmark, right?

This submarine bookmark is adorable and the perfect add-on to any aquatic themed books you might be gifting.

Speaking of aquatic, this whale bookmark comes in two options, with a whale jumping out or diving into the book.

These clip-on LED book lights double as a bookmark! They come in four different designs, including both cats and dogs.

Lumipets are adorable squishy nightlights, making them the perfect companion for staying up late and reading under the covers.

This sweet little bird lamp makes a great addition to a little ones nightstand, giving them plenty of light to read at night.

A Cozy Spot to Snuggle Up With a Good Book

This seat is both a great place to sit and a place to store stuffed animals or extra blankets! Win/Win!

If you’re looking for a little more structure, these Sweet Seats chairs are sure to please any little one!

You could go all out and get the little reader in your life a cozy play tent to create a private reading oasis.

A Personal Library Kit For The Organized Reader

This personal library kit is perfect for the Type A reader! Kids will likely be amazed to learn that this card system was used to keep libraries organized across the world. I also love this as a gift for siblings to encourage lending books between libraries. You can get this one from Amazon or buy it from Knock Knock directly.

A Kit To Write A Book for The Aspiring Authors

The Illustory Book Making Kit by Lulu Jr has everything your little reader needs to write, illustrate, and publish their very own book. I don’t know about you, but this gift would have blown my mind as a kid. You can pick this one up from Amazon or from Lulu Jr directly. There is also a comic book version of the kit for the comic lovers in your life.

A Bookish Tee for The Fashionable Reader

Out Of Print makes lots of incredible gifts for the young (and old) readers in your life. I personally love this tee featuring The Snow Day, but they have lots of different titles to choose from. There are also plenty of accessories like bags, scarves, and even masks if you’re not that into t-shirts. You can check them out on Amazon or at

I hope this list helps you cross a few gifts off your list this year. What are your favorite go-to gifts for readers? Be sure to share below so I can cross a few off my list too!
